This Privacy Policy is provided by Lumbermens Mutual Casualty Company,
in Liquidation and its affiliated and subsidiary companies (collectively
referred to as "Lumbermens") which includes the following insurance
companies: Lumbermens Mutual Casualty Company, in Liquidation, American
Manufacturers Mutual Insurance Company, in Liquidation, American Motorists
Insurance Company, in Liquidation, Specialty Surplus Insurance Company
(a surplus lines insurance company domiciled in Illinois), and Long Grove
Insurance Company Limited (an insurance company domiciled in Australia).
Lumbermens has been in run-off and has not been issuing or renewing any
insurance policies since 2003.
Lumbermens is dedicated to maintaining the trust of our policyholders,
claimants, and others with whom we have done business. This Privacy Policy
will provide you with information about our policies and practices with respect
to the handling of personal information and our compliance with privacy laws.
Why Lumbermens Collects and Discloses Personal Information
Lumbermens collects and discloses personal information only for the purpose of
serving the insurance related needs of its customers (current and former policyholders,
insureds and claimants). These needs may include evaluating, providing policy related or
administrative services, including compliance with regulatory requirements, claims
investigation, adjustment and coverage assessment. Lumbermens may also collect and
disclose personal information about third parties with respect to claims made against
customers.
Types of Nonpublic Personal Information Lumbermens Collects
Information that may be collected includes, but is not limited to, an individual’s name,
address, telephone number, social security number, policy number, premium
and payment history, medical history and credit reports. We may also collect information from
claimants including his or her name, address, telephone number, social security number, claim
number, date of loss, type of loss, cause of loss, and the value of a claim. The information
collected would be in compliance with the privacy law requirements.
We may initiate the collection of certain nonpublic personal information when administering or
servicing an insurance policy or in the handling of a claim. The information may be collected
from sources such as our affiliates, policyholders, claimants, third party administrators, and other
third party sources. Examples of these third party sources may be witnesses
to incidents, or persons retained by us or by the claimant in the process of servicing a policy
or a claim (i.e.: physicians, attorneys, accountants or appraisers).
Disclosure of Nonpublic Personal Information
Nonpublic personal information as permitted by law may be shared with affiliated and nonaffiliated
third parties in order to administer or service an insurance policy or a claim. Our affiliates
include insurance companies. Unaffiliated third parties include, but are not limited to, persons
or organizations retained to assist in the claim process or in the administration of policies
(i.e.: medical providers, third party administrators), reinsurers, and others as permitted or
required by law.
Usage of Nonpublic Personal Information
We use nonpublic personal information as permitted by law to administer or service a policy,
administer a claim, bill premium, etc. Nonaffiliated third parties having access to our nonpublic
personal information are prohibited from using such information for any marketing purposes except
as permitted by law. As permitted by law, nonaffiliated third parties may use such information
only to perform their obligations to us, our policyholders or claimants. Nonaffiliated third
parties are prohibited from disclosing any nonpublic personal information to any other party.
Lumbermens’ Security of Nonpublic Personal Information
Personal information recorded in documents is securely stored at Lumbermens’ offices and
at the offices of its affiliated companies. We control access to nonpublic personal information to
those who need access to service our policyholders and to others as permitted or required by law.
We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to better protect the information under
our control. Lumbermens employees, contractors and representatives are under obligation to access
personal information only when they have a legitimate business need to do so.
Sharing Information Gathered on Website
The Lumbermens website is designed to provide information about Lumbermens. If you provide personal
information on our website in order to administer your insurance policies or ask a question, we may
need to share that information with authorized third parties, if necessary to service your request.
We do not sell any customer information to mailing list companies or telemarketing companies.

The privacy of communication over the Internet cannot be guaranteed, because the Internet is not
a secure medium. Lumbermens does not assume any responsibility for any harm, loss, or damage you may
experience or incur by the sending of personal or confidential information over the Internet by
or to Lumbermens.
